This policy explains how Clipo handles information when you use our app and keyboard. We built Clipo with privacy as a priority: your clipboard and your keystrokes belong to you, and we do not collect them, send them over the internet, or share them with anyone.
We do not collect your clipboard or keyboard content. Clipo does not gather, store on our systems, or process your clipboard history, keystrokes, templates, or other app content on any server we operate. There is no account required to use Clipo, and we do not build a profile of what you copy or type.
Specifically, Clipo does not:
If you choose to purchase or restore a Clipo Pro subscription, limited information is processed so we can verify your entitlement and unlock Pro features (such as higher clip and template limits). This is separate from your clipboard data.
When you subscribe or restore purchases, the following may be processed:
We do not receive your payment card number or full billing details. Payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google.
Anything you copy, type, or manage with Clipo outside of billing remains on your device, as described in the sections below.
Clipo offers an optional paid subscription, Clipo Pro, that unlocks additional features such as higher clip and template limits. A free tier remains available without a subscription.
Clipo includes a custom keyboard (Input Method Editor) that you can enable as your device keyboard. We understand that a keyboard has access to everything you type, which is why we want to be explicit about what Clipo Keyboard does and does not do:
You can disable or remove the Clipo Keyboard at any time in your device’s keyboard settings. Disabling it does not delete your clipboard history in the Clipo app.
The operating system may ask you to allow certain permissions. Here is what we use them for:
.json, .txt, or .csv) that you explicitly choose. We only access files you select for those actions.Granting permissions is your choice where the system allows it; without keyboard or clipboard access, the app cannot perform its main function.
Clipo stores your saved clipboard history, keyboard learned words, theme preferences, and related app data locally on your device using local databases and shared preferences. That data remains in your app’s private storage area and is not sent to us or to advertisers.
Your clipboard and app content do not leave your device for our purposes. We do not operate a backend that receives your clipboard or keyboard input. Subscription status is checked through Apple, Google, and RevenueCat when needed to unlock Pro features; that flow does not include your clipboard data. If you use export, share, or backup features, any transfer happens only because you initiated it (for example, saving a file or using another app), not because Clipo silently uploads your content.
Uninstalling the app or clearing app data may erase local storage, including your clipboard history and learned words. Keep your own backups if you need to preserve exports.
Clipo is built with Flutter. Aside from subscription management, we use no third-party services that collect or share your clipboard, keyboard, or app content for analytics, ads, or tracking. We do not sell your clipboard data — we do not have it.
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and verify Clipo Pro entitlements. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription information from Apple or Google on our behalf. It does not receive your clipboard contents, keystrokes, or templates. RevenueCat acts as a service provider (data processor) for subscription data only.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device’s App Store or Google Play account settings, or through the in-app subscription management screen where available.
If you purchase Clipo Pro, your payment and subscription are processed by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android) under their respective privacy policies. We do not control how those platforms handle your store account or payment information.
The emoji picker is provided by Google’s open-source Emoji2 library, which is bundled within the app and runs entirely on your device. It does not communicate with any server.
Your device manufacturer and operating system (Google, Apple, etc.) may have their own privacy practices for how the OS handles the keyboard, clipboard, notifications, storage, and in-app purchases. Those are governed by their policies, not by this document.
Clipo is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not include social features or accounts. Subscription purchases, if made, are handled by the app store under the account holder’s control. If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns, you can remove the app from a device at any time.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time — for example, if we add a feature that changes how data is handled. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If the changes are important, we may also notify you in the app or in the store listing. Continued use of Clipo after an update means you accept the revised policy.
