Privacy Policy

Clipo — a privacy-first clipboard manager and keyboard for Android.

Effective date: March 28, 2026

Introduction

This policy explains how Clipo handles information when you use our app and keyboard. We built Clipo with privacy as a priority: your clipboard and your keystrokes belong to you, and we do not collect them, send them over the internet, or share them with anyone.

In short: Clipboard data, keystroke input, word suggestions, and all related app data stay on your device. We do not transmit your personal data to our servers or to third parties because we do not collect it in the first place.

Data We Collect

We do not collect personal data. Clipo does not gather, store on our systems, or process your information on any server we operate. There is no account to create, no user profile we build, and no database of your activity on our side.

Specifically, Clipo does not:

Anything you copy, type, or manage with Clipo is handled entirely on your device, as described in the sections below.

Clipo Keyboard (Input Method)

Clipo includes a custom keyboard (Input Method Editor) that you can enable as your device keyboard. We understand that a keyboard has access to everything you type, which is why we want to be explicit about what Clipo Keyboard does and does not do:

You can disable or remove the Clipo Keyboard at any time in your device's keyboard settings. Disabling it does not delete your clipboard history in the Clipo app.

Permissions Used

The operating system may ask you to allow certain permissions. Here is what we use them for:

Granting permissions is your choice where the system allows it; without keyboard or clipboard access, the app cannot perform its main function.

Local Storage

Clipo stores your saved clipboard history, keyboard learned words, theme preferences, and related app data locally on your device using local databases and shared preferences. That data remains in your app's private storage area and is not sent to us or to advertisers.

No data ever leaves your device through Clipo for our purposes. We do not operate a backend that receives your clipboard or keyboard input. If you use export, share, or backup features, any transfer happens only because you initiated it (for example, saving a file or using another app), not because Clipo silently uploads your content.

Uninstalling the app or clearing app data may erase local storage, including your clipboard history and learned words. Keep your own backups if you need to preserve exports.

Third Parties

Clipo is built with Flutter and uses no third-party services that collect or share your personal data for analytics, ads, or tracking. We do not sell data — we have none to sell.

The emoji picker is provided by Google's open-source Emoji2 library, which is bundled within the app and runs entirely on your device. It does not communicate with any server.

Your device manufacturer and operating system (Google, etc.) may have their own privacy practices for how the OS handles the keyboard, clipboard, notifications, and storage. Those are governed by their policies, not by this document.

Children's Privacy

Clipo is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone. The app does not include social features or accounts that would identify a child. If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns, you can remove the app from a device at any time; no data is held on our servers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time — for example, if we add a feature that changes how data is handled. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If the changes are important, we may also notify you in the app or in the store listing. Continued use of Clipo after an update means you accept the revised policy.
